Experience 1-2 years hands-on or participation in a machining or optics technology program

Optical Coating Technician

Job Summary
This full-time position is responsible for operating and maintaining ion-beam-sputtered thin film coating deposition systems to produce high quality optical components.
Essential Job Functions may include the following, but are not limited to:
•Participate in and document preventative maintenance, cleaning, repairs and improvements tocoating machinery.
•Daily operation of the coating chambers and/or cleaning and loading of optics.
•Maintain accurate records and logs of coating runs, test data and system modifications.
•Works with Coating Manager to ensure proper design and set-ups for special production parts
•Follow and enforces all safety and clean-room regulations
•Proper handling and packaging of critical and fragile optical components
•Keep work area neat, clean and organized
•Sitting for long periods of time, crouching, stretching, reaching, and lifting may be required

Quality Assurance Technician

•Clean, inspect and test products to MIL and/or ISO specification
oUnderstand written work instructions and schematics
oCleaning, handling and assembly of coated and uncoated optical components, lasercrystals and opto-electronic components
oPerform visual inspection and testing with interferometer and autocollimators
oProper handling and packaging of critical and fragile optical components
•Cleaning, loading, unloading and inspecting optics before and after coating
•Keep appropriate records and log books
•Keep work area neat and organized
