About Us

History

Established in 2009 and located just 30 minutes north of Denver, Perkins Precision Developments (PPD) is a progressive company with extensive experience in optics manufacturing. Our technical staff possesses well over 100 cumulative years in the photonics industry.

PPD resides in a 7,000 square foot facility with a class 10,000 clean room. We have a full range of shaping, grinding, polishing and coating equipment that allows us to produce a diverse mix of shapes and sizes of precision optical components and assemblies for a wide variety of applications. All custom optics are manufactured and coated in-house. Typical products include wedge windows, curved and plano laser mirrors, spherical lenses, right angle prisms, plate polarizers, penta prisms, filter glass and Brewster windows.

IBS coatings are offered on PPD-provided or customer-supplied substrates. Coating options include HR, dual HR, AR, BBAR, band pass filters, polarizing, metallic and spatially-varying coatings. Leadership

Jay Perkins

President & Founder

Jay’s career in optics manufacturing and engineering management spans almost 40 years. His experience fabricating and coating precision optics includes 13 years as president of High Plains Optics in addition to time spent at other renowned optics companies such as Particle Measuring Systems and Meadowlark Optics.

Jay is a respected businessman and leader who is dedicated to establishing long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with his customers by providing innovative solutions, quality product and excellent customer service.

 

Emily Kubacki

Director of Sales & Marketing

Ms. Kubacki is responsible for PPD’s worldwide sales and marketing efforts. After receiving an optical engineering degree from the University of Rochester, Emily spent several years involved in optics manufacturing, including the fabrication and metrology for NASA's Chandra X-ray telescope mirrors.

She has over 25 years of combined experience in the engineering, sales and marketing of optical components and has published articles in industry magazines such as Photonics Spectra, Laser Focus World and Photonik.
